Bob O'Hare made his cabaret debut in May of 2009 with "Home: A Musical Journey." It was a wonderful way to kick off his summer. It was well-received, with Sandi Durell lauding its "carefully chosen songs cleverly intertwined" and "truly realized" performances.

Why so long before a second show? Note that the title of the new production is "Recovery" - Mr. O'Hare took a very serious fall after his first show, and is still in recovery today. His life was dominated by a long stay in a rehabilitation center and much physical therapy, but Robert O'Hare has willpower!

As soon as he could, he began working with Eric Michael Gillett, his extraordinarily talented director, and the Tom Nelson Trio. The healing process continues, yes, but so does the music! Eric Michael Gillett and Mr. O'Hare have selected a glorious range of songs to tell Bob's fascinating, inspiring, sometimes humorous story of Recovery, by composers such as Leslie Bricusse, David Friedman, Jerry Herman, Henry Mancini, Anthony Newley, Paul Simon, Stephen Sondheim, and others.

Among the songs that tell Bob's tale are "Nothing Can Stop Me Now," "Singing in the Bathtub," "Help is On the Way," "Happiness," and "Two for the Road." (Complete song lists will be available at each performance.)

Bob O'Hare was born in Brooklyn, grew up in New Jersey, attended high school in New York, college in Jersey City, and law school in Newark. Prior to practicing law for the past 27 years, he performed in regional summer stock theater, with leading roles in such shows as, "Stop the World - I Want to Get Off," "The Roar of the Greasepaint, The Smell of the Crowd," "Company," "Follies," "Godspell," "Fiddler on the Roof," and "Guys and Dolls," to name a few. He has also been seen on television on "Another World." He studied voice with the late Phil Campanella and Linda Burton at the Singers Forum. He is honored to be having his second adventure working closely with cabaret/theater's "idea man" Eric Michael Gillett.

Eric Michael Gillett is known as an actor, singer, and director. Mr. Gillett's own cabaret shows have included "Cast of Thousands: The Songs of Craig Carnelia" (for which Eric was named MAC's Major Male Vocalist of 2012), "Careless Rhapsody: The Lyrics of Lorenz Hart", "Best of My Love," and his critically-lauded collection of radio songs of the past forty years, "Hook, Line, and Singer." Mr. Gillett has directed some of the top ladies in cabaret including Karen Akers, Marieann Meringolo, KT Sullivan, Sheera Ben-David, Lari White, and Raissa Katona Bennett. He is a two-time recipient of the MAC Award for Outstanding Direction and was honored with the Dick Gallagher Award, bestowed by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, for his unique contributions to the art of cabaret. www.ericmichaelgillett.com

The Tom Nelson Trio is one of the most talented groups working in cabaret and jazz today. Among the many artists they have supported in different groupings are Richard Holbrook, Nancy Wilson, Peter Cincotti, Bob Dorough, Tom Wopat, and the New York Voices.
