BRIDGET EVERETT: ROCK BOTTOM

NOW - October 16

Until October 11: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30PM, Saturdays at 11:30PM

Extension - October 14-16: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9:30PM

$40 / $25 Members

Originally commissioned as part of The Joe's Pub 2013 New York Voices series, ROCK BOTTOM opened The Public's 2014-15 season to critical acclaim and has extended until October 16. Created by the ferociously talented Bridget Everett with Tony Award-winning songwriting duo Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz and Matt Ray, ROCK BOTTOM is the entertainer's first major production since her 2007 musical At Least It's Pink. Everett, who The New York Times has called a "pure id on the rampage," barrels through life tip-toeing toward disaster, wine bottle by wine bottle and man by man. However, instead of succumbing to a chardonnay-induced stupor, Everett embraces a series of revelations that lead her and her voice of an angel to redemption. ROCK BOTTOM features new original songs written with Shaiman, Wittman, Ray and Horovitz.

JUSTIN VIVIAN BOND: THE DRIFT

Thursday and Friday, October 2 & 3 at 7:00PM

$25

"Going into a room and drifting out of a room because there was no real purpose in going in, nor any more purpose in going back out again. That was the drift. The drift was everything that you did without having a reason. But where was a reason for anything at all. Oh, you could invent a reason, and some were plausible. Some were plausible enough for being accepted the way a polite excuse is accepted for convenience or social policy. But there had been nothing." -from Tennessee Williams's novella The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone

In The Drift, Justin Vivian Bond creates a new, free associative, collage of spoken word and song inspired by the story of Karen Stone, a retired actress who drifts from one space to another -either in her mind, in couture or in bed.

JG THIRLWELL (FOETUS) AND SARAH LIPSTATE (NOVELLER)

Thursday, October 2 at 9:30PM

$15

The duo of JG Thirlwell and Sarah Lipstate, which debuted with a rapturously received set at The Stone in NYC just months ago, makes its third-ever appearance at Joe's Pub. In this project, Thirlwell plays synthesizers and electronics and Lipstate (aka Noveller) plays guitar through a multitude of effects. The evening will feature projections of original film work by Lipstate.

PAM ANN: BAD AIR HOSTESS

Friday, October 3 at Midnight

$30

Pam Ann's debuts BAD AIR HOSTESS, a new show about a glamorous, heavy-drinking, drug-abusing and fashion-obsessed international air hostess with more issues than Vogue. Pam Ann would rather flick the pages of fashion magazines in the galley, snort cocaine and scroll the Internet for 'love' than deal with her passengers. She is destructive and reckless in her approach to life, always chasing the high but always left short of the runway. She says what other cabin crew would like to say and embraces terrorism! If you're easily offended or scared of flying this show is for you!

POMME IS FRENCH FOR APPLE

Saturday, October 4 at 7:00PM

$20

Pum (n): West Indian for a woman's private parts. Short for pum pum.

Through hilarious vignettes and original music, pomme is french for apple (Liza Paul and Bahia Watson) takes a fresh, funny, irreverent and distinctly West Indian look at womanhood in all its glory: its perils, its pleasures and all madness in between. From the sublime to the absurd, pomme (sounds like...) features a dizzying cast of characters from diverse locales such as London, Toronto, Jamaica, and the too-tight crotch of the pants.

ADAM ENRIGHT: GOOD BITCH GOES DOWN

Saturday, October 4 at 9:00PM

$20

You follow all the rules. You swallow all the baloney and still you find yourself left behind. You're heartbroken. You're taking a pounding from life without even the consideration of a reach around. Sound familiar? You're a bitch. You're a good bitch, but you don't have to take it anymore! Part self-help seminar, part autobiographical exorcism, full rock concert, Adam Enright's GOOD BITCH GOES DOWN will show you how one man went from heartbroken to heartbreaker in 60 song-filled minutes.

THE SWEET REMAINS

Sunday, October 5 at 7:00PM

$16 Adv/ $20 Door

The Sweet Remains is headed equally by three singer-songwriters. The Boston Herald said, "Its been a long time since 3-part harmonies this lush were yoked to songs this melodically gorgeous." The band's strong lyrical and melodic writing has been likened to modern folk-rockers such as Ray LaMontagne and John Mayer. However, their lush and crafted harmonies distinguish them from the throngs of guitar-toting troubadours and harken back to super-groups like Crosby, Stills & Nash, the Eagles and Simon & Garfunkel.
