Big Girl, You Are Beautiful is a cabaret that celebrates women of all shapes and sizes. Nightcap Cabaret's Producing Director, Anne Marie Scalies, a big girl herself, has dreamed of bringing powerhouse women together since Nightcap Cabaret first began three years ago. As a fan of Limelight Performing Arts Center, she teamed up with larger-than-life owner, Ann Pinto-McCarney to bring her idea to life.

Collaborating with artists is a norm for the Nightcap team. Gathering top notch Limelight performers as well as other Philadelphia professional artists to bring awareness to body typing in the arts. Although NOT a political evening, it is an evening of inclusion and diversity. If you close your eyes and listen to these women sing, you can hear Elphaba, Eponine, Ariel, and Audrey. This is a chance for these dynamic women to explore roles that may be typed against or an opportunity to belt some darn fine showtunes as only a belting diva can do.

The star-studded line-up includes Ann Pinto-McCarney, Tiara Greene-Wilson, Kat Lemon, Katie McGrier, Zoi Gianneas McNamara, Janine Merolla, BrieAnne Rogers, and Amanda Shaffern. Vanessa Williams on keys and Chris Tolomeo on drums bring a wonderful energy to the mix!

Anne Marie Scalies asked these artists: As curvy girl in theatre, what is one lesson you can teach other curvy girls growing up in the industry?

Katie McGrier: Don't try to be someone you're not to fit what you think the people behind the table want to see.

Ann Pinto-McCarney Embrace the roles others see you in rather than the ones you see yourself doing because work is work!

Zoi Gianneas McNamara: Don't let other's preconceived notion's dictate how you see yourself.

Janine Merolla: "Curvy" is what people see, talent is inside you. I've never thought of my curviness as a reason I can or can't get roles and that's served me well.

Brienne Rogers: Rejection is part of the process, but don't let that scare you away from your goals. You might not look like Millie or Miss Adelaide, but you're still beautiful!

Amanda Shaffern: Don't let your curves let you think you don't deserve to be at a dance call. Even curly girls can kick to Jesus!

Expect lots of laughs and tears at Big Girl, You Are Beautiful - but mostly lots of TALENT because these voices are off the hook! Lock-in a babysitter now for this "grown-ups only" night of fun and don't forget to bring your favorite wine/beer and let these amazingly talented ladies bring you the love.

McNamara adds, "Getting to stand strong with my fellow big and beautiful women so we can show how versatile we are and how capable we are of doing anything is what I'm looking forward too the most!"

Seating is limited so nab your seats now before it's SOLD OUT!
