The ALLIANCE THEATRE is pleased to announce its holiday production on the Hertz Stage, Courtenay's Cabaret: Home for the Holidays. Based on her popular one-woman cabaret show, Courtenay Collins, with director Susan V. Booth, has created a new holiday cabaret that will include music, stories, surprises, cookies, crafts, and Courtenay's signature charm and good humor. Courtenay's Cabaret: Home for the Holidays will run on the Hertz Stage from December 2 - 24, 2016.

Set in her home, Courtenay will entertain audiences night after night with a mix of scripted and improvised holiday cheer. Accompanied by a live band, Courtenay will sing holiday classics and new favorites with the wit and Southern charm that has won her fans from Atlanta to New York. She will also welcome and interview a mix of mystery guests each night including notable local celebrities, musicians, mascots, characters, and maybe even a politician or two. No two performances will be the same.

"Wholly selfishly, I've chosen to spend time in a room with the most joyful person I know," said Director, Susan V. Booth. "Happily, at the end of those weeks in the rehearsal hall, Atlanta gets a shot at spending some time with her as well. Her joy is palpable, gorgeous, and completely contagious. And as the song ought to go: we need a little Courtenay - right this very minute."

Courtenay Collins has a long and accomplished career as an actor and performer. Nationally, she has performed on Broadway and in touring productions of Beauty and the Beast, The Phantom of the Opera, and Eating Raoul. She performed on the Alliance Stage most recently inThe Prom, and has had leading roles in The Geller Girls, Jacques Brel..., Into the Woods, Smart Cookie, Managing Maxine, and Love Jerry.

"I've been obsessed with doing a holiday cabaret ever since I recorded my Christmas CD, A Merry Little Christmas in 2003," said Collins. "I longed for an audience to sing my favorite holiday songs to. Recording the CD was rewarding, but singing the songs to actual people is much more satisfying. I love doing small shows in people's homes for private parties, and that's what each night of the Cabaret will feel like - an intimate party in a beautiful home with lovely guests - up close and personal and connected. Like the salons in Paris."

The creative team for Courtenay's Cabaret includes Sound Designer Clay Benning, Costume Designer Jeff Cone, Set Designer Kat Conley, and Lighting Designer Joseph A. Futral.

Courtenay's Cabaret will also feature musicians Amanda Wansa Morgan (Music Director, Conductor, and Keyboard), Scott Glazer (Bass), and Quinton "Q" Robinson (Drums).

Performances of Courtenay's Cabaret are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 2:30 and 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., December 2 - 24, 2016.
