MORE ABOUT ANNA LIVELY

Anna Lively brings a great talent to the grand Big Band standards and the music of Tin Pan Alley, Broadway and Movie Musicals, with a touch reminiscent of the great vocalists and solo recording stars of the past. Anna was brought up on the great American music. She has a feel for this genre unknown to most of her generation. Her teen-year idols were Doris Day and Ella Fitzgerald and Sinatra and Bing and the other great singers of the 30s, 40s and 50s. Anna is a graduate of The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre here in New York, where she studied with Sanford Meisner. She began her vocal training at a young age and soon studied voice in New York with Elizabeth Coss, a member of the Metropolitan Opera Company and with Carlos Noble, one of the great coaches and musical directors of the Golden Age of movies in Los Angeles. Combining acting ability, a gift for creating characters, and a great voice to interpret a lyric, Anna has done cabaret to critical acclaim. Anna has performed her one-woman shows in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Dallas and in a variety of other cities. She has also done many theatrical productions in New York and around the country.

Christopher Denney, celebrated cabaret pianist for Karen Mason and the late Julie Wilson, will be accompanying Anna on the piano. Denny has served as musical director, arranger and pianist for such theater, cabaret and opera luminaries as Karen Mason, Julie Wilson, Brent Barrett, Gregg Edelman, David Campbell, Tammy Grimes, Rod Gilfry, David Burnham, Ron Raines, Andrea Marcovicci, Lauren Bacall, Dorothy Loudon, Kaye Ballard, Jeff Harnar and Steven Brinberg, earning, in the process, two Back Stage Bistro Awards and four Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs Awards for Outstanding Musical Direction. His thirty-year career has taken him to virtually all of the major venues in New York and throughout the U.S., notably including Carnegie Hall, where he performed his own arrangements with Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops, as well as to Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu, Australia, Italy, Switzerland, Mexico, Paris and London's West End. Film work includes having produced Placido Domingo's recording sessions for Baz Luhrmann's Oscar-winning musical film, Moulin Rouge.
