International chanteuse Adrienne Haan performs Between Fire and Ice - A diabolical Weimar Berlin Cabaret at Feinstein's 54 Below on Wednesday, February 22 at 7:00pm. Known for her "great voice" and as a captivating entertainer, Haan's musical historical journey is under the musical direction of pianist Richard Danley.

Feinstein's 54 Below is located at 254 West 54th Street in New York City. Tickets range from $25-$60, additional $5 fee at the door, plus a $25 dollar food/beverage minimum and are available by phone at 646-476-3551 or www.54below.com.

In this soirée, Haan celebrates the songs depicting Berlin during the 1920's: a time of change, challenge, experiments and when traditions went down the drain. With the first World War lost and the Kaiser in exile, Germany began to experiment with a new form of government: the Weimar Republic was born and with it a nation longing for latitude. Come and celebrate the Golden Age, the dance on the volcano between the two World Wars, a time of creativity, art, music and culture, the women's movement, and gay liberation. Haan re-lives this bodacious period probing the ties between feminist struggle and female glamour, taking you on an enchanting musical voyage through history.

"An all-round entertainer of the highest calibre," award-winning Adrienne Haan is one of Europe's and America's most electrifying stars. With a diverse repertoire that ranges from chanson to jazz, blues, klezmer and Broadway, Haan has a passion for the music of the 1920s and 30s. She received a standing ovation for her Carnegie Hall debut in Tehorah in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Israeli-German diplomatic relations. This fall Haan appeared at New York's Metropolitan Room in a performance dedicated to the music of Kurt Weill to an enthusiastic full house. The show was praised as "a moving performance where Haan establishes a close rapport with the audience through her informative, funny, and often moving commentary between sets." Recent engagements include appearances at the Neue Galerie's Café Sabarsky, the Santa Fe Jewish Film Festival, a performance at DC's Washington Opera Ball and New York's National Arts Club. Her programs include unique interpretation of classics from The Great American Songbook in Till the End of Time, Cabaret Francais, featuring classics by Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Kurt Weill and Walter Jurmann, and TransAtlantica, a celebration of the most loved songs from both sides of the Atlantic. Last season saw the debut of Rock le Cabaret!, a 20th century European cabaret. ?Haan has performed with the Cologne Philharmonic, Frankfurt Symphony, WDR Big Band, and Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks, among others. A citizen of both Germany and Luxembourg, Haan's latest CD Berlin, Mon Amour, hailed as "engaging and unique," is a tribute to 1920s and early 30s Germany.

Music Director and pianist Richard Danley is known for his "veracious musical instincts and raw talent" whose skill extends beyond the keyboard and podium. Internationally recognized, he has performed, arranged and directed cabarets, concerts and revues at many prestigious venues across five continents. Richard's collaborations include notable Broadway artists Brian Stokes Mitchell, Audra McDonald, and Lea Salonga. He has been the music director and arranger for five productions of Broadway CloseUp for New York's Merkin Hall among others.
