Ackerman, Franz, Jennings Headline Benefit Concert for Marvell Rep, 10/24

Broadway luminaries Loni Ackerman (Evita, Cats), Joy Franz (Into the Woods, Pippin), and Ken Jennings (Sweeney Todd, Urinetown) will perform in a one-night only benefit concert for Marvell Repertory Theatre. Other performers will include Joel Robertson (Les Miserables, Cats), Liz Holtan (The Fantasticks), Rachel Claire, Nicolas Greco, Stephanie Lynne Mason, Mike Rosengarten, Robert Townsend, and Jill Usdan.

The benefit will take place at The Playroom Theatre (151 West 46th Street, 8th Floor) on Monday, October 24, with a reception at 6:30 and the performance beginning at 7 p.m.

Marvell Rep's artistic director, Lenny Leibowitz, will direct the evening as a celebration of the company's one-year anniversary. Marvell Repertory Theatre is Marvell Repertory Theatre is New York's only professional theatre - and one of only a handful in the entire nation - devoted exclusively to producing new and enduring works in rotating repertory. Its 2011 season at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex included productions of The Dybbuk, Blood Wedding, Nora, and In the Shadow of the Glen. Plans for the 2012 season will be announced at the benefit.
