What a divine musical evening! This reviewer was completely enchanted by Jenna Pastuszek's tribute to Barbra Streisand featuring multi-talented pianist and musical director, Joshua Zecher-Ross.

What did our critic think of TIGER STYLE! at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley? BroadwayWorld reviews Mike Lew's riotous and biting comedy 'Tiger Style!' running through April 28th in Mountain View.

Death tends to affect those who remain differently. Some take time to grieve, then march boldly forward, while others live in purgatory, their grief so overwhelming they only function within the pain of their loss. Mr. Parker by Michael McKeever is very much about just that - as was Daniel’s Husband, but while Daniel’s Husband left us with tears and broken hearts, Mr. Parker gives us hope for life after loss, as well as a lot of laughs which is a great analgesic when exploring deep emotions.

“Natasha, Pierre, and The Great Comet of 1812” now playing at Cygnet Theatre is a maximalist electro-pop opera immersive musical dream, with a superb cast, and wonderful choreography, it will leave you dazzled.  “Natasha, Pierre, and The Great Comet of 1812” is running through May 19th.

Robin Hood, that English ruffian, is back over 700 years after first appearing in Sherwood Forest. His story has undergone several transformations, including the addition of Maid Marian and Friar Tuck in the 15th century. It continues to evolve to encompass 21st century ideas in Jerry Montoya’s new play at the B St. Theatre, Robin Hood.

Should you avoid seeing the show? For God’s sake, no. You will miss what is surely going to be one of the most talked about pieces of work in Houston’s theatrical history. Go see it, and make your own call whether you love or hate it. But don’t let them brainwash you into thinking this is only about love because it is also about repulsion, and that is okay. It is very much as if David Cronenberg and David Lynch made a movie, and Jim Henson designed the sex scenes.

Producers Christopher D Clegg and James Drury have had a remarkable journey with Cool Rider, the much-lauded Grease 2 stage adaption. From a supposed ‘one night only show’ back in 2014 at the Lyric Theatre, to record-breaking ticket sales, a flurry of last-minute additional dates, then a return run three months later at the Duchess Theatre…not to mention an original cast recording.

I've posted many times about how much of an institution Saint Vincent Summer Theatre has become: you know you're going to get a slapstick farce, a Golden Age or earlier revue, and usually a musical comedy with pop oldies.

Port Jefferson's Theatre Three sensationally continues their amazing fifty third season with a gripping production of Agatha Christie's Murder On The Orient Express. It is most interesting and thrilling to see a mystery mounted locally as this title doesn't seem to be done often. This production runs through May 4th at the charming Long Island venue and by the enthusiasm from opening weekend, you may want to get your tickets quickly.

The Music Theatre Kansas City – (Pro) KC Premiere production of the 2014’s Broadway version of “Rocky the Musical” is surprisingly worth your time.  It is hard to have avoided Sylvester Stallone’s “Rocky Franchise” beginning as a sleeper, low budget film hit in 1976.  So far there have been six “Rocky” movies plus several follow-on films based on the career of the son of Apollo Creed, Rocky’s original opponent and eventual friend.

Two River Theater (TRT) is now presenting the captivating world premiere comedy, A Thousand Maids. 

Peter Jöback has released a new record, Atlas, and tonight was the first time he played all the songs live in. At the winter concerts in 2023, we got a first glimps of his new sound when he played the title song Atlas.  In total there are ten new songs on the album, all which he has co-written with Ed Harcourt and Kathryn Williams and they have created a British pop sound that suits Peter vocice and style very well.

FROM HERE TO ETERNITY follows the lives of the soldiers of G Company based in Hawaii in the days leading up to the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. The story was inspired by author Jones’ own experiences during the war—but how does that story translate to the stage?

Based on the 1980 film starring Olivia Newton-John and, before that, the Rita Hayworth film, Down To Earth, this lively adaptation never takes itself too seriously. From start to finish the ensemble prances, preens, and mugs it up, giving audiences a sugary sweet over the top show filled with kinetic dancing, wonderful singing and plenty of toe tapping melodies.

I don’t think you are going to find a funnier TAMING OF THE SHREW easily. Director Dana Bowman has lucked out to get the cast and crew that could pull this off, and she had extreme insight into how to handle the problems the show represents to women today. You will laugh, and you will find it a delight. Sitting through TAMING OF THE SHREW was never a chore, and I was enchanted from start to finish.
