At CinemaCon 2014, the largest annual gathering of cinema owners and operators from around the world, Fathom Events announced that it will partner with Omniverse Vision to capture the musical stage production of "From Here To Eternity" from London's prestigious West End for cinecast to cinemas across the country. As a production partner, this marks a first-of-its-kind venture for Fathom Events, who has long been recognized as the leader in alternative content. Fathom fans will be the first U.S. audience to see "From Here To Eternity," presented in hundreds of select movie theaters around the country through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network later this year, with the Broadway production slated for 2015.

"We are excited for the opportunity to work with Omniverse Vision to ensure this beautiful stage production is captured and shared with cinema audiences"

"We are excited for the opportunity to work with Omniverse Vision to ensure this beautiful stage production is captured and shared with cinema audiences," said Shelly Maxwell, executive vice president of Fathom Events. "This international collaboration is yet another milestone for Fathom in bringing the world's finest unique cinema entertainment to local communities nationwide."

Omniverse Vision CEO, Grant Calton, added, "After four years of partnering with Fathom Events, it is hugely exciting to embark on our first co-production deal. After a highly successful six-month West End run, this will be a fantastic chance for Fathom audiences to see the UK production first, before it hits Broadway in 2015."

James Jones' prize-winning novel "From Here To Eternity" is the story of soldiers stationed in Hawaii in 1941, just before the bombing of Pearl Harbor, of their women and illicit love affairs played out against the background of impending war. Published in 1951, it was made into an iconic major motion picture in 1953 that won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

This new musical version has lyrics by Tim Rice, best known for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Evita," "Chess" and "The Lion King." It opened in London in late 2013 - Rice's first new production in 13 years.

"I am delighted that Fathom and Omniverse are collaborating to capture our ambitious musical version of this magnificent story, as the production and Stuart Brayson's score deserve permanent recognition," Rice said.
