AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL showrunner Ryan Murphy turned to Twitter today to reveal that Wes Bentley has joined the cast of the latest installment of the FX anthology series.

Tweeted Murphy: "Thrilled to announce Wes Bentley will be a series regular on AHS: Hotel"

The actor previously starred in Murphy's former HBO pilot Open and had a recurring role on AHS: Freak Show as Edward Mordrake. He joins previously announced 'Hotel' cast members
Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson. Yesterday, actress Jessica Lange confirmed that after four seasons on the show, she would not return for Season Five.

While no details have been revealed as to the plot line of the upcoming season, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Kathy Bates and Evan Peters may soon announce their return to the series.

AHS: Hotel is scheduled to debut in late October on FX. Production will get underway this summer in Los Angeles.

Bentley is known for his roles of Ricky Fitts in American Beauty(1999) and Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games (2012). He was one of four subjects in the documentary My Big Break (2009), which covered his fame after American Beauty and struggles with substance abuse.

He also starred in the premiere of Venus in Fur by David Ives in the off-Broadway production in 2010, whose run was extended. Most recently, he appeared as gamemaker Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games movie.
