PEOPLE has shared an exclusive first look at HAMILTON'S Daveed Diggs on tonight's episode of ABC's BLACK-ISH. The actor will appear in a six-episode story arc as Johan, described as "the hipster brother of Bow," portrayed by Tracee Ellis Ross.

Diggs tells PEOPLE, "I was surprised at how relaxed the schedule was going from Hamilton on Broadway and having a sustained energy in theater - three hours at a time of intensity. Going to TV it is about keeping things fresh and having a short burst of intensity over the course of a day."

BLACK-ISH airs Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Daveed Diggs recently picked up a Tony Award for his dual roles as the Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in the Broadway musical HAMILTON. His national tour credits include Word Becomes Flesh. Regional credits include In the Red and Brown Water, Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train, The Tempest, Troilus and Cressida, Mirrors in Every Corner. Albums include CLPPNG (Sub Pop Records) and Midcity with Clipping; Small Things to a Giant.
