VIDEO: SPIDER-MAN Invades Times Square to Help Hurricane Victims
Almost a dozen SPIDER-MAN cast members invaded Times Square on this morning's GOOD MORNING AMERICA on ABC to talk about their efforts to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Sandy. Check out their appearance below!
The show's star Reeve Carney spoke to GMA weatherman Sam Champion about his organization, Broadway Cares, which this year will be donating a large portion of their funding to hurricane relief efforts. In addition to collecting money for the cause at the theater each night, the 'Spider-Man' stars put together a 2013 calendar, which features one member of the cast each month.
SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark is now in its 2nd smash year on Broadway, and has been seen by more than 1 million audience members from around the world. It features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy® Award-winners Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley (The Boy From Oz), and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger (Underneath The Lintel) and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Fantastic Four and Spider-Man comics, “Big Love”). Scenic Designer George Tsypin and Costume Designer Eiko Ishioka are winners of Outer Critics Circle Awards and were recently nominated for Tony® Awards for their work on Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark.
The world’s most recognizable Super Hero leaps off the comic book pages and onto the Broadway stage in Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark. Peter Parker’s ordinary teenage life takes a turn for the extraordinary when he’s bitten by a genetically altered spider and suddenly finds himself endowed with incredible superpowers.
