Mariah Carey performed a live version of her holiday classic, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" at last night's annual tree lighting in Rockefeller Center, broadcast on NBC.

The singer originally planned to tape her performance the night before, along with other artists such as Idina Menzel, but showed up more than three hours late to for the pre-taping, claiming she was held up in a meeting with lawyers over her divorce from Nick Cannon.

Carey tweeted an apology to fans on Twitter over missing Tuesday's performance: "Last night's situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you."

There was some speculation that the actual cause of the missed appearance was that Carey did not want to perform in the rainy weather that hit New York City on Tuesday night. Check out Carey's live performance below.
