The 21st season of ABC's DANCING WITH THE STARS premiered last night with a gigantic opening number featuring all the contestants and pros performing a Hollywood Boulevard dance number. Check out below along with other highlights including:

Nick Carter and his partner Sharna Burgess tore up the dance floor as the last dance of the night with their Cha Cha. The performance earned the duo a solid 24 out of 30, tying for the highest score of the night.

Bindi Irwin and her partner Derek Hough's jive drove the crowd wild! The judges were blown away by Bindi's contagious energy. The pair received 8s across the board leaving them tied with Nick & Sharna for the highest score of the night, 24 out of 30.

Tamar Braxton and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy had plenty of pep in their quickstep! Carrie Ann and Bruno gave the pair 8s while Julianne rated the performance a 7. The pair are off to a strong start earning 23 out of 30.

GREASE LIVE's Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson impressed the judges with their first dance of Season 21, a Jive to "I Got You (I Feel Good)." While Carlos won praise for his natural talent and musicality, Bruno Tonioli wanted to see Carlos release the devil inside him. The judges gave Carlos and Witney a score of 23 out of 30.

Carlos PenaVega, who shot to fame and cult status after starring on the highly successful Nickelodeon musical comedy "Big Time Rush" as Carlos Garcia, which also took to the road and toured with the ensemble cast around the globe. FOX recently announced that PenaVega will join Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens, Julianne Hough and Keke Palmer in GREASE LIVE, in which he will portray Kenickie.
