"Sent By Hand" a new original short film, written and produced by Stanley Bahorek (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Amazing Grace,"Boardwalk Empire") in association with EUMEUS NYC, directed by James Matthew Daniel and featuring Alexandria Wailes (Big River, Children of a Lesser God, "High Maintenance"), Jubil Khan (Fete De La Nuit), and Steve Crowley is among entrants for The 2015 Disability Film Challenge. The short tells the story of a modern day Cinderella, "Ashley", who is deaf, and her Prince "Charlie" who is determined to return her yoga mat and win her heart (or at least a coffee date) with the help of his fabulous godmother and her magical lollipop.

Co-creators Stanley Bahorek and Alexandria Wailes met in 2004 performing together in the DeafWest production of Big River. Together they founded the production company EUMEUS NYC, which, creates multidisciplinary work that challenges both the creators and its audience by exploring linguistic coincidence and asking "How do we understand each other? How do we fail to communicate with each other? And how can we test the limits of our abilities?"

The Disability Film Challenge, founded in 2014 by Nic Novicki ("Boardwalk Empire", "The Sopranos") and established in association with the Media Access Awards and the HollyShorts Film Festival, is a 48-Hour short film competition. The mission of the film challenge is to empower disabled and non-disabled filmmakers to be proactive in the film industry and to create a gateway of exposure for people with disabilities in the media. In addition to thematic and story rules, entries must include elements that, at the very least, acknowledge disability to create awareness of these unique stories that are not being told. Entries are strongly encouraged to include a disabled actor, director, writer, and/or producer. Among other prizes, winners will have their films screened at the Hollyshorts Film Festival in LA. The winners for best actor and best director are mentored by Peter Farelly (The Farelly Brothers - Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura) and casting director Pam Dixon. Winners will be announced May 11th, 2015."
