Days of our Lives star Alison Sweeny appeared on today's 'Ellen' and revealed that she had a big announcement to make. "I've been on Days of our Lives for 21 years. I'm celebrating my 21st year," The Biggest Loser host told the audience. "And I decided that it's going to be my last year with the show." Watch the appearance below!

Sweeney has appeared on the show in the role of 'Sami Brady since she was 16. For the last seven years she has been doing double duty as host of the NBC reality series.

"I just have, you know, worked so much and my daughter (Megan) just turned 5 and my son (Benjamin) is 9 and I just want to be with them and enjoy my last year. I'm going to be on Days all this year," said the actress on her decision to leave the daytime sudser.

Asked how she'd like to see her character written out of the series, Sweeny replied, "I don't know! I kind of want to ... I mean it would be awesome to have some kind of happy ending, but then I also think Sami probably deserves some sort of very twisted, like,Breaking Bad ending."
