VIDEO: Adam Lambert & Nile Rodgers Unveil New Track 'Lay Me Down'
The legendary Nile Rodgers-- musician, producer, composer, arranger, guitarist and founder of Chic-served as curator for a benefit Dance Party like no other in the history of the East End of Long Island on behalf of AFTEE* on August 19, 2013.
At the event, Avicii, Adam Lambert and Rodgers teamed up on stage to unveil their new track 'Lay Me Down' as well as perform the numbers 'Shady' and 'Let's Dance'. Check out the appearance below!
Vocal superstar, #1 Billboard album chartist, Grammy nominee, actor and LGBT role-model & activist Adam Lambert has been captivating audiences with stunning vocals and a commanding stage presence since first appearing on American Idol in 2009. Adam performed 'Let's Dance' as part of a David Bowie medley on the American Idol tour at the end of the season. After his successful 2009 debut album, 'For Your Entertainment' & sold out 2010 global tour, Adam received a 2011 Grammy nomination for "Best Pop Male Performance" for his hit 'Whataya Want From Me'. He returned to the studio to create and executive produce his second studio album 'Trespassing' (purchase details below) which upon its release in 2012 debuted at #1. It includes a funky dance track entitled 'Shady' featuring Nile Rodgers, which was Adam's first collaboration with this musical legend.
Nile Rodgers has influenced popular music for decades, playing an integral role in the music of an incredible array of artists including Diana Ross, Madonna, and David Bowie (Nile co-produced his1983 'Let's Dance' album). An artist in his own right, he co-founded the R&B/Funk /Disco band Chic in 1977. Nile released his autobiography entitled "Le Freak" which details much of his life and impressive contribution to the music world and Chic has recently released an album 'Up All Night (The Greatest Hits)'.
