UEFA EURO 2016's France vs. Romania Opener Moved to ESPN2

ESPN has moved the opening match for the UEFA European Football Championship 2016 - France vs. Romania on Friday, June 10 - from ESPN to ESPN2. Coverage will begin at 2 p.m. ET with a one-hour pre-game program leading into kickoff at 3 p.m.

With this move, ESPN will provide live coverage of Muhammad Ali's memorial service from Louisville, Ky., beginning at 2 p.m. Coverage plans for Muhammad Ali's memorial service on ESPN will be announced tomorrow.

France vs. Romania will originate live from Stade de France in Paris. Ian Darke (play-by-play), analyst Taylor Twellman and reporter Steve Bower, will call the match in English. On ESPN Deportes, Fernando Palomo and Tato Noriega will handle match commentary in Spanish. Additionally, the match will be streamed live in English and Spanish on WatchESPN.

ESPN3 Surround will also deliver exclusive France-Romania content via four different streams - the Spidercam feed, the Spidercam triple-box feed, the Tactical Cam feed, and the Tactical Cam triple-box feed - offering fans alternate camera angles, experiences and stories around the UEFA EURO 2016 opening match.

ESPN networks will combine to televise more than 230 live hours of the UEFA European Football Championship 2016 beginning Friday, June 10, through Sunday, July 10, in 10 cities across France. ESPN will carry 39 matches including the opening and title matches. ESPN2 will show 12 matches. ESPN Deportes, the company's Spanish-language sports network, will show 45 live matches and six tape-delayed on dates with concurrent matches.
