On last night's episode of NBC's THE BIGGEST LOSER, trainer Jillian Michaels admitted to giving her team caffeine supplements during the competition. As a result of that break in the competition's rules, fan favorite and American Idol champ Ruben Studdard, who was voted off last week, will now return to the show.

"Before you all step on the scale, there is something important that needs to be addressed," host Alison Sweeney warned. "Last week, Jillian broke the rules and gave caffeine supplements to each member of her team without doctor's permission."

As punishment for taking the supplements, Jillian's white team received a 4-pound penalty. Furthermore, "for fairness reasons," the previous week's results were declared "invalid." That meant Bob Harper's blue team had their previously won immunity restored while Dolvett Quince's red team saw the return of Studdard.

"I stand by my opinion, a caffeine supplement is significantly healthier than unlimited amounts of coffee," said a defiant Michaels following the scandal. "My only regret is that my team, they're the ones suffering the consequences of my professional opinion."
