The Wrap reports that Tracy Morgan is currently in discussion to sign on to the cast of New Line's upcoming comedy FIST FIGHT. The comedian will join previously announced cast members Ice Cube, Dean Norris, Jillian Bell and Charlie Day on the project.

Richard Keen is set to helm the film from a script by Evan Susser and Van Robichaux. Shawn Levy will produce along with Max Greenfield and John Rickard. Day will executive produce with Dan Cohen, Marty Ewing and Billy Rosenberg. Production is scheduled to begin this month in Atlanta.

The movie will mark the '30 Rock' star's first movie since he was seriously injured in a 2014 car accident in which a Walmart truck driver crashed into the limo he was riding in along with several others.

In the film, Day will take on the role of "a mild-mannered teacher who is challenged to a fist fight by a much tougher colleague, played by Ice Cube." Norris will play the school's principal, with Bell playing a guidance counselor. No details yet on the role Morgan will play.

The comedian was last seen on the big screen in Chris Rock's "Top Five." He co-starred with Ice Cube in the 2008 comedy "First Sunday" and the 2005 comedy "Are We There Yet?." Morgan recently made a surprise, emotional appearance at the 67th Annual Emmy Awards, in which he presented the final prize of the evening for Best Drama series.
