Tony Winners Logan, Mendes to Join Forces on Vampire Hunter Drama Series

Deadline reports that Tony winning SKYFALL co-writer John Logan and director Sam Mendes will soon join forces again for an upcoming Vampire Hunter drama series for TV. According to the report, Logan will pen the script while Mendes will produce and possibly direct the project which will air on premium cable networks. 

The series is described as "an origin story set in the 1800s London in the vein of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which also was set in 19th century Europe, including London, and featured an assortment of fictional literary characters." Featured in the show will be some of fictions most storied characters such as Van Helsing and Doctor Frankenstein.

The duo recently worked together on the latest James Bond installment, Skyfall, currently breaking box office records throughout Europe and overseas. The film will make its debut on this side of the pond this Thursday in IMAX theaters across North America.

Producer Mendes has earned three Tony Awards and has helmed such Broadway shows as Cabaret, Gypsy and The Vertical Hour. He earned an Academy Award for his directorial debut, American Beauty. Other directing credits include Revolutionary Road and Away We Go.   

Logan's playwriting efforts on 2010's RED on Broadway earned him a Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critic Circle Award. He is set to pen the next two installments of the James Bond franchise films. He has been nominated for three Oscars for co-writing Gladiator, and scripting Hugo and The Aviator. Other film credits includes Rango, Coriolanus, Sweeney Todd, The Last Samurai and Any Given Sunday.
