Tony Telecast Nominated for 2013 Directors Guild of America Award

The 2012 Tony Awards telecast was recognized when the Directors Guild of America's 2013 award nominations were announced on January 9.

The Tony show was included in the category Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Musical Variety. The nomination goes to Director Glenn Weiss. Mr. Weiss also served as Executive Producer of the 66th Annual Tony Awards telecast, with Ricky Kirshner.

Neil Patrick Harris hosted "The 66th Annual Tony Awards", which was broadcast on CBS on June 10, 2012. The entire program is available to download in HD on Amazon.com and iTunes.

This is Mr. Weiss' ninth DGA Award nomination. He won the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Musical Variety in 2007, 2010 and 2011 for the 61st, 64th and 65th Annual Tony Awards. He was previously nominated in this category in 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2008, all for the 55th, 56th, 59th, 60th, and 62nd Annual Tony Awards.
