Deadline.com reports that Tony Shalhoub has joined the cast of a single comedy CBS pilot from Rob Greenberg. The actor joins previously announced cast members Chris Smith and Kal Penn on the project from CBS TV Studios and the Tannenbaum Co.

According to the report, the pilot will tell the story of "a young guy (Smith) who finds camaraderie living among the more experienced guys he meets in a short-term rental complex, including Gil (Penn) and Frank (Shalhoub)." Shalhoub's character is described as "a four-time divorcé who still fancies himself a ladies man and dwells in the complex's bachelor pad."

Shalhoub was last seen on Broadway in the Tony Award winning revival of Lend Me a Tenor. The Emmy-winning actor starred in the long-running series MONK and appeared in Greg Daniels' comedy pilot Friday Night Dinner this past season.
