The CW has announced that the network has given a script orders to a new drama - BOOK CLUB - a dramedy about a young, female New Yorker who starts up a book club with her mother, grandmother, and close friends.

The network's new series is based upon Hope Hartman's documentary. The project would reportedly follow the group's adventures and lives as seen through the "book of the week" - the theme of which would reflect the lives of the group members.

Nina Colman (DR. DOLITTLE 3) will write the show's script and serve as executive producer. SHERLOCK HOLMES' Dan Lin will also produce.
