Telemundo ranked as the #1 Spanish-language network in the Monday to Friday 10pm timeslot for 12 consecutive weeks starting the week of August 25th through the week of November 10th among adults 18 to 49, according to Nielsen. Fueled by the final weeks of the second season of its super series "El Señor de los Cielos" starring Rafael Amaya, and the first eight weeks of the network's latest super series "Señora Acero" starring Blanca Soto, the network outperformed its closest competitor, Univision, during the Monday to Friday 10pm timeslot 34 out of the 38 nights among adults 18 to 49. "El Señor de los Cielos" and "Señora Acero" are two of Telemundo's most successful super series featuring returning scripted drama series that are edgier, action packed and faster paced than traditional novelas.

"Señora Acero," tells the story of Sara Aguilar Bermúdez (Soto), a stunningly beautiful, charismatic and intelligent woman who goes from housewife to someone capable of shaking up the entire structure of a government. After the unexpected murder of her husband Vicente Acero, Sara learns that her late husband was not the man she thought. From that moment, her life and her son's life become an endless battle to escape authorities and the enemies of her late husband. In addition to Soto, the series also stars Andrés Palacios, Rebecca Jones, Litzy and Damián Alcázar. The series was written by Roberto Stopello ("La Reina del Sur") and directed by actor and director Miguel Varoni and Walter Doehner ("La Reina del Sur"). "El Señor de los Cielos" is one of the network's most ambitious productions to date produced by Telemundo Studios and filmed by Argos Television. The series is a fictional and action-filled story loaded with raw passion and emotions, untold luxury, suffering, intrigue and suspense. Inspired by true events, "El Señor de los Cielos" tells the story of Aurelio Casillas (Amaya), one of the most prominent Mexican drug lords from the 90s, whose ambition was to become one of the richest and most powerful men in Mexico.
