NBC's TODAY continues to gain momentum while closing the total viewer gap with GMA for four straight weeks and posting its narrowest gap with GMA in months. For the week of December 15, TODAY was the number-one morning show in total viewers on Wednesday, December 17, its second consecutive Wednesday win. TODAY was also number one in the key demo A25-54 on Monday and placed first in rating A25-54 (1.7) for the third straight week.

TODAY is the only morning show to post across-the-board gains versus the season-to-date average in all key ratings categories. Season-to-date and year-to-date, TODAY ranks as the #1 morning news broadcast in A18-49.

TODAY HIGHLIGHTS:

Week of December 15

-TODAY was #1 in total viewers on Wednesday for the second week in a row, leading GMA by +57,000

-TODAY reduced the total viewer gap with GMA for the 4th consecutive week, hitting its narrowest levels in months

-TODAY finished #1 among key demo viewers A25-54 on Monday (+48,000 over GMA)

-TODAY placed first in rating A25-54 with a 1.7 for the third consecutive week

-TODAY came within 75,000 A25-54 viewers of GMA, its fourth consecutive week with a demo gap under 100,000 viewers

-This is the first time TODAY has placed first (win or tie) in the key demo rating three times in a row since the weeks of 2/10, 2/17 (both during Sochi Olympics) and 2/24/2014

-TODAY was the only program to deliver across-the-board growth vs. 4Q'14/STD levels in total viewers (+5%, or +258,000), A18-49 viewers (+7%, or +107,000), and A25-54 viewers (+6%, or +113,000)

-TODAY averaged 1.586 million A18-49 viewers and widened its leads week-to-week over the competition, topping GMA by +10% (+140,000) and more than doubling CBS by +141% (+929,000)

-For calendar year 2014 and the current 2014-15 season-to-date, TODAY is the #1 morning news program among A18-49 viewers

-TODAY averaged 5.124 million total viewers, +58% (+1.882 million) more than CBS This Morning

-TODAY averaged 1.991 million A25-54 viewers, leading CBS by +102% (+1.007 million)
