Susan Lucci to Star in Lifetime's New Drama Series DEVIOUS MAIDS

Lifetime has picked up the new drama DEVIOUS MAIDS from executive producer Marc Cherry and ABC Studios with a 13 episode order for a 2013 launch, it was announced today by Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President, Programming, of Lifetime Networks.

Following the lives of five maids with ambition and dreams of their own while they work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills, Devious Maids will star Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), Judy Reyes (The Pregnancy Project), Dania Ramirez (Entourage), Roselyn Sanchez (Without a Trace), Edy Ganem (Livin' Loud), Grant Show (Swing Town), Brianna Brown (Homeland), Rebecca Wisocky (American Horror Story), Tom Irwin (Grey's Anatomy), Mariana Klaveno (True Blood), Brett Cullen (Damages), Drew Van Acker (Pretty LittleLiars) and television icon Susan Lucci (All My Children).

Regarding the announcement, Sharenow and Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager of Lifetime Networks, jointly said, "We are thrilled to be getting into business with one of entertainment's truevisionaries. This show and Marc Cherry's unique story telling voice perfectly articulate Lifetime's strategy of attracting top-tier creatives with their most original and exciting projects."

Based on the hit Mexican telenovela Ellas son la Alegría del Hogar and produced by ABC Studios, Devious Maids will beexecutive produced by Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives), Sabrina Wind (Desperate Housewives), Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), Paul McGuigan (Scandal), Larry Shuman (Kissing Miranda), David Lonner, John Mass, Paul Presburger and Michael Garcia.

Devious Maids joins Lifetime's growing portfolio of scripted dramas that includes season six of the highly rated Army Wives, also produced by ABC Studios; the recently renewed hit The Client List, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt; and the critically acclaimed comedic drama Drop Dead Diva, which launched its fourth season this month.
