CBS revealed today that Stockard Channing is set to reprise her role as Alicia's mother Veronica on season 5 of The Good Wife in the series' October 6th episode, "The Bit Bucket".

The episode description reads: "Alicia and Cary sue the NSA on behalf of search engine Chumhum, unaware that Lockhart/Gardner's connection to a former client has resulted in the spy agency monitoring the firm's communications. Meanwhile, Alicia's mom takes steps to support her daughter, and Eli works to secure Diane's Supreme Court nomination."

Jeffrey Tambor will also be returning as Judge Kluger.

THE GOOD WIFE stars Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Julianna Margulies as Alicia Florrick, a wife and mother who reinvents her life following her husband's sex and political corruption scandal. The new season will debut on Sunday, September 29 on CBS.

Channing's other TV credits include The West Wing, Out of Practice and The Stockard Channing Show, among others. She has appeared on the big screen in Must Love Dogs, Bright Young Things, Where the Heart Is, Six Degrees of Separation -- for which she was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe -- Practical Magic, Grease and more.

The Broadway veteran has taken the stage in 2011's Other Desert Cities, Pal Joey, The Lion in Winter, Six Degrees of Separation and The House of Blue Leaves -- all for which she was nominated for Tony Awards. She won the 1985 Tony for her performance in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg.
