Sprout Announces First-Ever Pop Up Store
Sprout®, the first 24-hour preschool network, will launch its first pop-up store at The Market & Shops at Comcast Center in Philadelphia. The store will open for business at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, and will be open every Saturday throughout the month of December, offering a selection of products featuring popular original Sprout characters Chica and Star.
Sprout will also host special Saturday performances during the month of December at the bottom of each hour between 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The shows will include Chica and feature a different host from Sprout's live daily morning block The Sunny Side Up Show.
Visitors attending The Comcast Holiday Spectacular in the lobby of Comcast Center are invited to head downstairs to The Market & Shops to view the Sprout performances and visit the shop before or after the show. The Comcast Holiday Spectacular, a unique and family-friendly holiday tradition has entertained close to a million people since its 2008 debut. The free 15-minute show is presented daily at the top of each hour 10:00 a.m. - 8 p.m. (The show is not presented weekdays at 5:00 p.m.).
Earlier this year, Sprout announced expansion plans for its consumer products program in conjunction with Big Tent Entertainment and CaféPress. ShopSprout.com launched in February 2013 and currently offers a variety of products from Sprout series, including The Chica Show, Pajanimals, The Good Night Show, Caillou, LazyTown, Wibbly Pig and more.
Sprout is the first 24-hour preschool destination available on TV, on demand and online for children ages 2-5 and their parents and caregivers. Sprout's hosted programming blocks, including The Sunny Side Up Show and The Good Night Show, serve as tools to guide parents as they help children prepare for their days and nights with activities, user generated content, stories, and more. Viewers are encouraged to submit artwork, birthday wishes, videos and more through SproutOnline.com, which has received over five million viewer interactions to-date. Sprout's VOD offering is the #1 on demand service for younger children with over 1.5 billion views. Sprout was fully purchased by NBCUniversal's Cable Entertainment Group in November, 2013.
