Sony has announced that they've done quite a bit of rearranging with their 2013 and 2014 calendars. Many of their upcoming films, including the remake of ROBOCOP, the sci-fi dystopia, ELYSIUM, have received revised release dates.

ROBOCOP, helmed by Jose Padilha and starring Joel Kinnaman, was set to receive its theatrical release on August 9, 2013 - Neill Blomkamp's ELYSIUM, starring Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, and Sharlto Copley, will now take that date, and ROBOCOP is set to be moved to Feb. 7, 2014.

In ROBOCOP, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy(Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex's life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

In addition, Sony also has stated they will now release CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2 on Sept. 27, 2013. Finally, the animated flick PIXELS, based off of a French short film, was removed from the 2014 release calendar entirely. Produced by Happy Madison, it's still officially in pre-production/development.
