Sony Pictures Worldwide Snags Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Segel-Led David Foster Wallace Pic

According to The Hollywood Reporter, James Ponsoldt's THE END OF THE TOUR, starring Jason Segel as author David Foster Wallace, as well as Jesse Eisenberg, has been picked up by Sony Pictures Worldwide. The movie is set to begin filming this year.

THE END OF THE TOUR follows David Foster Wallace (Segel), author of Infinite Jest who eventually committed suicide in 2008, on the book tour that launched his career. Eisenberg will play Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky, who joins Wallace on tour.

The script was adapted by Donald Margulies from Lipsky's book Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip With David Foster Wallace.

Segel, of TV's How I Met Your Mother fame, will next appear on the big screen in Sex Tape. He has also appeared in the films This Is the End, This Is 40, The Five-Year Engagement, The Muppets, Bad Teacher, Gulliver's Travels, I Love You, Man, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up and more.

Eisenberg will next be seen in Zack Snyder's Batman vs. Superman movie, as well as American Ultra and Rio 2. Other film credits include The Double, Night Moves, Now You See Me, He's Way More Famous Than You, The Social Network, Zombieland and more. The actor has appeared off-Broadway in the plays The Revisionist, Asuncion and Scarcity; he wrote the first two.
