Sir Elton John to Produce VIRTUOSO Music Pilot for HBOShowbiz411 reports exclusively that HBO will team with Sir Elton John, his husband David Furnish and 'True Blood' creator Alan Ball on a pilot centered on an elite music academy.

Titled "Virtuoso", the project, set in 1790's Vienna will follow young musicians in a distinguished music academy headed by Antonio Salieri, Mozart's nemesis in the Oscar winning film Amadeus. According to the report, the show will feature "lots of music, ruffled shirts and sex of all kinds"

Currently, casting is underway for young men and women who are are skilled at piano and other instruments.

HBO recently announced another musical teaming with Mick Jagger's company for an upcoming series on rock music of the '70s. "Boardwalk Empire" scribe Terry Winter is on board to pen the series.
