Shout! Factory, a leading multi-platform entertainment company, has acquired North American rights to the unhinged horror comedy GRAVY directed by actor-writer-producer-director James Roday. The announcement was made today by Shout! Factory's founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos, and the film's director James Roday.

In this picture deal, Shout! Factory has secured exclusive distribution rights to GRAVY, including digital, home entertainment, broadcast and theatrical for cross-platform releases in the U.S. and Canada. Shout! Factory plans a strategic rollout of the movie on a variety of entertainment distribution platforms and in all packaged media through its horror entertainment brand Scream Factory.

"James Roday has made a wonderfully demented blend of horror and comedy that fits perfectly into our Scream Factory family. The substantial talent behind and in front of the camera will appeal to a broad range of fans, and we look forward to building an audience across a variety of platforms," said Shout's Associate Vice President of Content Acquisitions Jordan Fields.

"I dreamt of cannibals, pop culture and Mexican food. That dream came true in the hands of a stellar ensemble cast and precision blood splatter. Gravy is a very dark comedy for grown ups who also like a little gore on the menu. We look forward to trick or treating genre fans with the film later this year..." James Roday.

A film by James Roday, GRAVY boasts an all-star ensemble cast of Michael Weston (State of Play, Garden State), Jimmi Simpson (House of Cards, White House Down), Sutton Foster (Younger, Bunheads), LILY Cole (Snow White and the Huntsman), Molly Ephraim (Last Man Standing), Paul Rodriguez (Ali), Gabriel Luna (True Detective, Matador) with Gabourey Sidibe (Empire, Precious) and Sarah Silverman (Wreck-It Ralph).

Synchronicity Entertainment presents in association with Siren Productions A Bad Flan Film

Casting by Monika Mikkelsen; music by Curt Smith and Charlton Pettus; special make-up effects by Gregory Nicotero and Howard Berger; edited by Abe Levy; director of photography, Amanda Treyz; co-producer, Steak House & Dominic Ottersbach; executive producers, Myles Nestel, Ruzanna Kegeyan, Kyle Jackson, Dean Gavoni, Jay Lieberman Ilardo, Larry Taube and Todd Harthan; produced by Kerry Rock and Craig Chapman; written by James Roday & Todd Harthan; directed by James Roday.

An irreverent, daring and wickedly-fun horror comedy, GRAVY walks a perfect line of tension and release, laughs and scares. It's Halloween night. A trio of costumed misfits with very special dietary requirements seizes a Mexican cantina and force the staff to engage in a late night of gluttony. The only caveat is what's on the menu...and who will survive til morning!

The film deal was negotiated by Preferred Content's Kevin Iwashina and Zac Bright, and Shout! Factory's Jordan Fields.
