Seven Stars Entertainment, a Sun Seven Stars Media Group subsidiary, and Peak Time Entertainment, the new co-venture between producers Bruno Wu and Arthur Sarkissian, announce their project, Titanic Code, scheduled to begin filming in early 2017 as a Chinese-American production.

The announcement comes 20 years after the release of the 1997 blockbuster, Titanic.

Titanic Code is a fresh take on the 1997 original, and is based on a script by David Marconi, who penned Martin Campbell's THE FOREIGNER, starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan, which was also produced by Sarkissian.

The film is expected to hit theaters worldwide during Christmas of 2017 or shortly thereafter.

The great passenger liner Titanic is once again under the spotlight, having appeared in the 1958 disaster film A Night to Remember and in the 1997 love story, Titanic, with the latter achieving global recognition as a box office phenomenon.

To pay tribute to Titanic's 20-year anniversary, Peak Time Entertainment's Titanic Code focuses on a conspiracy plot behind the ship's tragic sinking.

This original Wu-Sarkissian production will build on a brand new angle on the tragic tale and encompass themes of conspiracy, action, disaster, and romance.

The film's top-notch global cinema production team, along with its international cast and crew, will soon be announced.

As a heartfelt cinematic icon, the word "Titanic" remains one of the most searched words on Google worldwide, with over 300 million daily searches by more than 50 million Titanic fans and followers.

Sun Seven Stars Media will also be involved in providing merchandising services, and will appoint a team of Titanic-related experts, research specialists, and explorers to engage in production planning for a dedicated online Channel.

Sarkissian found, developed, and produced the RUSH HOUR franchise in 1998 and paired the unlikely duo of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, solidifying his position as a hit-maker when the movies earned $900 million worldwide.

Seven Stars Entertainment, the global content flagship company of Sun Seven Stars Media Group, was established by international tycoon Bruno Wu and entertainment personality and Chinese businesswoman Lan Yang. It owns nearly 60 film production companies via acquisition and joint ventures, and produces around 20 English-language films, 300 hours of English-language TV, and over 150 variety and reality shows distributed to 64 countries.
