Seth MacFarlane to Receive Special Achievement Award from Barbara Sinatra

The 28th Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational, February 18-20, 2016, will be a very special event honoring "100 Years of Sinatra" and THE LIFE of one of the most celebrated singers of this century.

It's just been announced that Seth MacFarlane will be receiving the Special Achievement Award for the Performing Arts from Mrs. Barbara Sinatra on February 20 during the tournament's gala event. Seth MacFarlane possesses talents that encompass many aspects of the entertainment industry. He has created some of the most popular content on television and film today while expanding his career in the worlds of music, literature and philanthropy. Although best known for his voice work, producing and acting in his animated series FAMILY GUY and the highest-grossing R-rated film Ted, Seth is a well-established music artist. MacFarlane earned a Grammy nomination for his newest and third studio album, "No One Ever Tells You", which showcases the unique arrangements and orchestral interpretations of the '50s and '60s and introduces listeners to ballads about love and loss unique to the time. He also garnered two Grammy nominations for his 2011 debut album, "Music is Better Than Words".

Barbara Sinatra indicated, "I am thrilled that Seth will be one of our special guests for the weekend that celebrates what would have been Frank's 100th year, Seth is an amazing talent. I am personally looking forward to honoring him for his accomplished career and giving him the opportunity to see the outstanding work that is undertaken at our Children's Center."

According to Mary Martin, Tournament Director, "We're so honored that Seth will be attending our tournament to receive this special award recognizing him for his musical talent and efforts to keep the spirit of the legendary Frank Sinatra alive."

This year's memorable two-day celebrity-amateur golf tournament will be held at Eagle Falls Golf Course at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. Barbara Sinatra is the gracious hostess along with Joe Mantegna, current star of the CBS hit drama Criminal Minds. Barbara and Joe will be joined by celebrities such as: Tom Dreesen, Grant Fuhr, Beverly Johnson, William DeVane, Jim McMahon, Elke Sommer, Kevin Sorbo and many more to be announced at a later date.

In addition, there will be three nights of parties, entertainment, silent and live auctions, a luncheon and fashion show and so much more. The Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational will be filled with additional excitement around "100 Years of Sinatra". This event will be like none other in its history.

Tournament festivities kick-off Thursday, February 18 with a special reception planned for participants.

Friday the 19th is the first round of golf, a glamour-filled Luncheon & Fashion Show presented by Grayse, silent/live auction and dinner featuring entertainment by the popular vocal trio, The Lettermen.

Saturday the 20th is the final round of golf, silent/live auction and the Black Tie Gala with a special tribute planned to Frank Sinatra and entertainment by the 5th Dimension. Seth MacFarlane will be receiving the Special Achievement Award for the Performing Arts from Mrs. Barbara Sinatra during the "100 Years of Sinatra" gala festivities.

Sunday concludes the event with an open house hosted at the Barbara Sinatra Center for Abused Children from 11:30am - 1:00pm.

The tournament began as "Frank's little party in the desert" and was founded by Barbara and Frank Sinatra in 1988 to raise funds for the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California. Over the years the tournament has remained very popular and has given over $9 million dollars to the center to provide counseling for victims of physical, sexual
and emotional abuse; and to focus on prevention, community education and breaking the cycle of abuse.
