Scoop: THE VIEW - Week of April 21 on ABC

ABC's "The View" welcomes the 109th Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray for their first joint talk show appearance since elected into office, live, MONDAY, APRIL 21 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET). The Mayor and NYC's First Lady will reflect on the first 100 days in office. The Mayor will share his goals for the city highlighting his commitment to education, as the couple sits down with moderator Whoopi Goldberg, co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy and show's creator Barbara Walters. U.S. Senator for Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren, makes her second appearance on the program to discuss her new memoir, A Fighting Chance. The appearances are a part of the show's continuing "Red, White & View" campaign, committed to political guests and discussions.

Scheduled guests for the week of APRIL 21-25 are as follows (subject to change):

MONDAY, APRIL 21 - Radio personality Angie Martinez guest co-hosts; 109th Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray; comedian Mario Cantone; former co-host of "The View" Debbie Matenopoulos (author, It's All Greek to Me).

TUESDAY, APRIL 22 - "The View" celebrates co-host Sherri Shepherd's birthday; entertainment and pop culture expert Jawn Murray guest co-hosts; James Franco, Chris O'Dowd and Leighton Meester (Broadway's "Of Mice and Men"); a performance from singer Tamela Mann.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23 - Guest co-host Chris Harrison (ABC's "The Bachelor"); Sarah Hyland (ABC's "Modern Family"); Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott ("Property Brothers"); U. S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (author, A Fighting Chance).

THURSDAY, APRIL 24 - Guest co-host Candace Cameron-Bure (ABC's "Dancing With the Stars"); Dr. Phil McGraw ("Dr. Phil"); Kelly Reilly and Vanessa Redgrave (ABC's "Black Box"); a performance from the cast of Broadway's "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical."

FRIDAY, APRIL 25 - Television personality Troy Dunn ("APB: With Troy Dunn") guest co-hosts; Sally Field ("The Amazing Spider-Man 2"); B.J. Novak (author, One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories); "Secrets with Barbara" welcomes Dr. Oz with important facts before undergoing plastic surgery; favorite hair products from Barbara Walters' personal hairstylist.

In September 2008, "The View" launched a successful "Red, White & View" campaign highlighting interviews and informational segments that helped promote civic responsibility during the election season. The continuation of the campaign is an important example of how "The View" remains an important player in the political process. "The View," a live, one-hour daily talk show from ABC (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET), is the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues, share their opinions and engage in colorful conversations. "The View," broadcast in HDTV and produced in 2-channel stereo sound, is now available to watch online daily at 4:00 p.m., ET/1:00 p.m., PT on "The View" is produced by ABC and Ms. Walters' Barwall Productions, with Ms. Walters serving as executive producer along with Bill Geddie, who also serves as executive producer for "The Barbara Walters Specials."
