Scoop: CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD on CBS - Sunday, January 5, 2014
Yoga instructor Hilaria Baldwin says the practice of the ancient art of physical and mental exercise helped her become more relaxed, in an interview for CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH Charles Osgood to be broadcast Jan. 5, 2014 (9:00 AM ET) on the CBS Television Network.
"I just stopped taking things so seriously, which was really the key to being much happier," Baldwin tells Rita Braver.
Hilaria and Alec Baldwin recently chaired the opening gala at the Smithsonian's Sackler Gallery in Washington for the first major gallery exhibit about yoga ever mounted in the U.S. Braver also speaks with exhibit curator Debra Diamond.
"By looking at the history you see how deep the roots are…and how important it has been through centuries," Hilaria Baldwin says. "And how it kind of brings it full circle."
Alec Baldwin admits to Braver that his main interest in yoga was his wife.
"When I came to her class the first time and watched her teach a class," he tells Braver, "all I wanted to do was like pour…a glass of scotch and light a cigarette and just say...this is never happening. This is never gonna happen."
Asked if yoga helped him become more relaxed, Alec Baldwin responds and laughs: "Only when the paparazzi aren't involved."
CBS SUNDAY MORNING is broadcast Sundays (9:00-10:30 ET) on the CBS Television Network. Rand Morrison is the executive producer.
