It was the bombshell story that rocked America – a 9,000-word feature in Rolling Stone magazine detailing a harrowing gang rape of University of Virginia student “Jackie” at a frat party – igniting outrage about the handling of sexual assault on campuses nationwide. Anger reached a fever pitch, condemning one of the country’s most elite universities and former UVA Associate Dean of Students, Nicole Eramo. Soon after the allegations came out, details of the article were brought into question, and eventually Rolling Stone retracted their piece and apologized.

Breaking her silence for the first time since the article was published, former UVA Associate Dean of Students Eramo, who was at the center of the national scandal, sits down with “Good Morning America” News Anchor Amy Robach, telling her side of the story on the eve of her defamation civil trial. “20/20” also features first-person accounts from key people connected to “Jackie”’s story, which allegedly involves a catfishing scam to win the affection of fellow classmate Ryan Duffin.

In addition, Robach speaks with Duffin; Alex Stock, “Jackie”’s former college friend; T. Rees Shapiro, Washington Post reporter, who investigated “Jackie”’s claims; Liz Seccuro, rape survivor and author of “Crash Into Me: A Survivor’s Search for Justice,” and more.

“What Happened to ‘Jackie’?” airs on “20/20” FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14 (10:01-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC.

“20/20” is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and David Muir. David Sloan is senior executive producer.
