“20/20” investigates the death of 16-year-old Annie McCann. The Baltimore police consider her death a suicide, but her parents, Dan and Mary Jane McCann, reject this conclusion, speaking out for the first time on national television. Jim Kontsis, a private eye hired by the McCanns, walks Correspondent Deborah Roberts through the investigation, and “20/20” is there as the McCanns go to visit a maximum security prison where they hope to speak with someone locked-up for a different crime who may have information on Annie. “Answers for Annie” airs on “20/20”on FRIDAY, JULY 15 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network.

Annie McCann disappeared from her family’s home in Alexandria, Virginia, on Halloween in 2008. Two days later, her body was found outside a housing project in Baltimore. An autopsy determined she died of Lidocaine poisoning, and police consider her death a suicide caused by drinking a topical antiseptic, Bactine. The McCanns believe their daughter was murdered after being abducted, or possibly lured away from home, and continue to fight for the case to be reinvestigated. They assembled experts comprised of well-known names, including the host of HBO’s Autopsy Dr. Michael Baden and psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow. Also they reached out to Senate Judiciary Chairman Charles Grassley for help.

“20/20” is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and David Muir. David Sloan is senior executive producer.
