According to Deadline, Tony nominee Santino Fontana has signed on for NBC's upcoming police drama series SHADES OF BLUE. Barry Levinson directs.

The project "follows a tight-knit crew of police officers who are effective at keeping the streets safe but also corrupt when it comes to lining their pockets and protecting their own. When one of the officers (Lopez) is forced to become a federal informant, she must decide between her own family's welfare and that of her police family."

Fontana is set to take on the role of "Stuart Saperstein, a tough cop with a lion's heart who is fiercely loyal to both his crew and his mother, with whom he still lives. He's happy to be the first through the door on a bust, but his confidence on the street doesn't translate to matters of the opposite sex."

Fontana recently appeared on Broadway in CINDERELLA. He lent his voice to the hit Disney animated film FROZEN. The actor's previous Broadway credits include Roundabout Theatre Company's 2007 production of Sunday in the Park with George, originating the role of Tony in Billy Elliot as well as originating the role of Prince Topher in Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Most recently Fontana was seen in the Lincoln Center Theater's award winning production of Act One. Fontana's film credits include Disney's 2013 hit musical film Frozen, voicing Prince Hans, and the upcoming Tina Fey and Amy Poehler comedy, The Nest. He also appears on Submissions Only.
