As BroadwayWorld previously reported, troubled actor Shia Labeouf entered a rehabilitation facility following his disruptive night at Broadway's Cabaret. LaBeouf was escorted out of Roundabout's production ofCabaret at Studio 54 last Thursday evening during the show's intermission in handcuffs. The 28-year-old was reportedly smoking inside the theater and engaging in other disruptive behavior, police said. When he was asked to leave, he refused and then threatened the officers and people on the sidewalk outside. He was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespassing.

Now Mel Gibson, who has had to deal with his own share of troubles in the spotlight, has weighed in on LaBeouf in a recent interview with New York Post. He told NYP: "When I see someone like Shia LaBeouf with the bag on his head and stuff, my heart goes out to the poor guy. I think he's suffering in some way."

Gibson also reveals that he'd love to do some stage work in the future. When asked if he'd consider doing Shakespeare, Gibson replied: "Sure, yeah! Shakespeare is great stuff. Maybe it's about time for King Lear, while I still have the energy to rage."
