The Top 11 is now the Top 10 on Fox's AMERICAN IDOL. Following one of the most brutal cuts of the entire season - the one that determines who's going on the summer tour - "hot, humid, and happening" teenager Shannon Magrane was sent home on Thursday night.

Elise Testone and Erika Van Pelt had joined Shannon in the bottom three, but the judges didn't think America was fair to Elise following her stellar performance of "Let's Stay Together." Elise was quickly sent to safety, leaving Shannon and Erika in the bottom two. Shannon "sang for her life," reprising her performance of Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey's "One Sweet Day," but the judges decided not to use their only save of the season on her. Shannon handled it well, telling her fans, "Thank you guys so much for being so loyal to me and so honest with me. It feels so good standing on this stage." Next week, the finalists will meet fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger, who will serve as American Idol's "image adviser."
