The stars of the upcoming NBC live TV presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's beloved family-friendly musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC have taken to social media to share photos from the rehearsal room as well as interact and comment on the iconic characters they are playing in the piece, as well - stars Carrie Underwood, Laura Benanti, Audra McDonald and executive producer Neil Meron among them.

Carrie Underwood took to Twitter today to write, "Let's start at the very beginning... A very good place to start..." quoting the classic "Do Re Mi", along with sharing a shot of her guitar case on the tape-marked rehearsal room floor.

Also, Broadway and rising TV star Laura Benanti utilized her Twitter account to talk about THE SOUND OF MUSIC today, as well, writing, "@neilmeron talking about twitter #meta" while also posting a shot of the executive producer speaking on camera during a rehearsal break.

Earlier this week, four-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald made a hilarious remark referring to her and Laura Benanti's lack of interaction for the duration of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, noting, "@LauraBenanti remember when we were rehearsing a show together but never saw each other? #Guesstheycut MotherAbbessandElsasDreamBallet".

In reply, Benanti amusingly proffered, "@AudraEqualityMc Tomorrow we are rehearsing the scene where Elsa and the mother Abbess drink martini's and talk shit about everyone."

Also, McDonald imparted some advice to aspiring Mother Abbesses of the future, "Step 1 to singing Climb Every Mountain: NOT Sobbing while singing it. #songistoobeautifulmymothermyfathermychildhoodwaaaah".

Additionally, executive producer Neil Meron has been providing constant updates from the set all along, with even more arriving today, writing, "This speaks for itself #soundofmusic @carrieunderwood @AudraEqualityMc @LauraBenanti @nbc @broadwayworld" along with a photo of the call sheet sign-in station for the actresses portraying the famous nuns of the abbey.

Meron also directed another Tweet to us right here at BroadwayWorld as well as the starry co-stars also covered above, querying, "My assistant or #soundofmusic nazi? @carrieunderwood @AudraEqualityMc @LauraBenanti @nbc @broadwayworld?" along with a photo of a young bearded gentleman.

Our answer: definitely your assistant, Neil! It was the beard that gave it away! But, hey, speaking of Nazis: when are you going to announce who you have cast as Rolf already?! We're dying to know!
