EW reports exclusively that Will Chase, currently appearing on Broadway as William Shakespeare in SOMETHING ROTTEN, has joined the cast of ABC's new midseason drama TIME AFTER TIME as a series regular. Chase will portray Griffin, described as "an ambitious and charismatic war veteran vying to be New York's next state senator."

According to the official description, the show is based on the novel and movie "Time After Time," and follows a fantastical cat and mouse adventure through time when famed Science fiction writer H.G. Wells is transported to modern day Manhattan in pursuit of Jack the Ripper. Once H.G. arrives in New York City, he finds a world he never thought possible and a young woman who captivates him.

Chase was most recently seen on television in the role of Luke Wheeler in ABC's NASHVILLE. The busy actor will also have a recurring role on HBO's upcoming drama series THE DEUCE.

A Tony nominee, Chase last appeared on Broadway in the revival of The Mystery of Edwin Drood and starred as Michael Swift on the NBC series "Smash." The actor made his Broadway debut as Roger in the critically acclaimed show Rent. He went on to star in many Broadway productions including Billy Elliot, Miss Saigon, The Full Monty, High Fidelity, The Story of My Life, Aida and Lennon.

Memorable television appearances include Pat Mahoney on "Rescue Me," "Royal Pains," "Pan Am," "White Collar," "Blue Bloods," and "Law & Order Criminal Intent."
