"SAndy Jordan's World of Jazz and Cabaret" is a kind of companion film to "The Zen of Bennett," a documentary about Tony Bennett by Unjoo Moon. Bennett says "I love to sing and paint, and as far as I'm concerned, I've never worked a day in my life," adding that "they're the only things I know how to do!"

So, too, with many of the singers and musicians in SAndy Jordan's "World of Jazz and Cabaret." Only a few of them have even approached Bennett's success or fame. But many of them have some of his same spirit: They have to sing; for them it is not work; it is love, like Bennett, their very life.

SAndy Jordan -- a star of New York night clubs and cabaret for over three decades -- has focused her incredible experience and energy on a star-studded hour-long documentary film called "SAndy Jordan's World of Jazz and Cabaret." The world premiere is November 18 at 8 PM at Tribeca Cinemas. It is directed by David Capurso.

Names from the world's of Broadway, jazz and cabaret include singer Sarah Rice, who starred in "The Fantasticks" and "Sweeney Todd;" guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, who joined Vaughn Monroe's Dance Band during World War II and had headlined all over the world; Songwriters Hall of Fame composer Ervin Drake, who wrote "It's A Very Good Year" which Frank Sinatra and Willie Nelson made part of there A-list repertory, "What Makes Sammy Run" on Broadway and others. There are also relative new comers such as Kat Gang, who distinguished herself as a jazz vocalist in London for 8 years before recent triumphs at The Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room and The Plaza Hotel's Rose Room where she's seen weekly. Then there are the those in the film who haven't sung or played top venues or recorded album. But these, like all the other HAVE TO SING, HAVE TO PLAY.

Sandy herself packaged her first large show at the age of 19 and promoted her SAndy Jordan and Friends Shows on TV, Radio and wherever they would let her talk. She was interviewed many times about the celebrities that performed in her shows. She hosted one of the most popular and successful weekly shows ever at The Algonquin Hotel called "SAndy Jordan and Friends." She has performed in Las Vegas and Carnegie Hall.

Sandy opened for Rodney Dangerfield at his club and at numerous club dates in the tri state area. Rodney was a special guest in her celebrity nights for years. Sandy presented variety packages where she sang, told fun stories and introduced her friends. Her friends were a singer and a comic and on occasion a novelty act.

Sandy opened numerous times for Rodney Dangerfield and worked with Soupy Sales, Phil Foster, Mel Brooks, David Brenner, Richard Pryor, Henny Youngman, and others. She was honored by Lionel Hampton who came to her shows and even brought her on television with him. Singers Sandy worked with or were special guests on her shows include Baby Jane Dexter, Bette Midler, Marilyn Maye, Odetta, Anita O'Day and Rosemary Clooney.
