Reg E. Cathey Joins Cast of Fox's FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot

According to The Hollywood Reporter, THE WIRE's Reg E. Cathey has signed on for Fox's upcoming FANTASTIC FOUR reboot, directed by Josh Tank.

Cathey will play Dr. Storm, father of Kate Mara (Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman) and Michael B. Jordan (Johnny Storm/The Human Torch).

Miles Teller and Jamie Bell also co-star in the latest installment in the comicbook franchise.

Based on the comic "The Ultimate Fantastic Four," the contemporary update will focus on the characters as young men and women. Josh Trank will helm the pic with Simon Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn and Gregory Goodman serving as producers.

The original Fantastic Four movie and its sequel The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer took a collective $619 million at the box office when released.

"The Fantastic Four" is slated to bow June 19, 2015.

REG E. CATHEY'S film and television appearances include House Of Cards, Arbitrage, Law & Order: SVU, Lights Out, 30 Rock, The Wire, Oz, Everyday People, The Corner, Boycott (HBO), S.W.A. T., The Machinist, American Psycho, Se7en, Tank Girl, and Star Trek-The Next Generation. He recently completed filming Hands of Stone, Nasty Baby and the Untitled Chris Messina film.

Theatre), Love's Labor's Lost, Timon Of Athens, The Taming of the Shrew, Hamlet, Macbeth, (NYSF.- Public Theatre), The Winter's Tale (Williamstown Theatre Festival), The Cure At Troy (Yale Rep), Dante's Inferno (Huntington Theatre), Henry IV Part 1 and 2 (California Shakespeare Festival) and Cato (Flea Theatre).
