The family of the late Jenni Rivera have announced that a public memorial will be held this Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles. Fans who wish to pay their respect to Rivera may do so between 10 AM and noon.

The "Celestial Graduation," as named by Rivera's family, will be led by Minister Pedro Rivera. They have requested respect and privacy in an upcoming private burial for the late singer and actress.

"We will celebrate the graduation into heaven, with honors, of our beloved mother, daughter and sister Jenni Rivera," the family told The Los Angeles Times. "The Rivera Family appreciates all the love given to our beloved Jenni Rivera who graduated on Dec. 9 and now rests in the arms of our Lord."

Additionally, Rivera's children encourage fans to donate to the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation instead of flowers.

Rivera was traveling with two pilots and four other passengers and was headed to Toluca following a concert in Monterrey on December 8. The aircraft, a Learjet 25, went missing 62 miles from Monterrey after taking off at 3:15 AM local time.

According to Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, Mexico Secretary of Communications and Transport, scattered remains of an aircraft found near where the jet went missing show "all indications" of being the plane in question. There were no survivors.

Rivera is best known for her musical career, having sold over 20 million albums. In addition, mun2 had just ordered a third season for her reality show, I LOVE JENNI.
