Oxygen Expands Programming Slate with Four New Original Series

Oxygen Media is giving the greenlight to four new original series; it was announced today by Rod Aissa, Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development, Oxygen Media. New shows include the millennial focused competition series "Last Squad Standing" and "The Battle of the Ex Besties," which test how far young women will go to protect their friendships. In addition, "Unprotected" is a docu-comedy featuring a family raising 2 teenagers under very different conditions - in and out of the witness protection program. And as part of its "Crime Time" line-up - Oxygen's Friday, Saturday and Sunday true-crime programming block - the network adds "Three Days to Live," chronicling the critical 72 HOURS after someone is abducted.

"Building upon our commitment to creating engaging, relatable content for millennial women, 'Last Squad Standing, 'The Battle of the Ex Besties,' and 'Unprotected,' are sure to deliver fresh and compelling stories that will resonate with our fan base," said Rod Aissa, Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development, Oxygen Media. In Q2 2016 to date, Oxygen ranks as the #1 overall cable network in the Tuesday 8pm hour among both F18-49 and F18-34.The network is delivering strong ratings growth in several key demos, up 16 percent in adults 18-34, 20 percent among females 18-34, 3 percent in females 18-49 and 3 percent among total viewers versus Q2 2015. Additionally, Oxygen Digital broke several records this past month. May posted its best month ever for unique visitors on Oxygen.com and overall the site year-to-date is up 119 percent year-over-year in 2016 vs. last year, along with full episode streams up 237 percent vs. May 2015. Oxygen.com's destination Very Real posted its best month ever for monthly unique visitors and the Oxygen Now app also delivered its best month ever for monthly unique visitors, page views and visits, posting triple-digit year-over-year growth in each respective area.

This half-hour doc-comedy follows the Cantarellas, a former crime family raising two teenagers, who have left the witness protection program to settle into the very suburban and retiree lifestyle of their new hometown of Scottsdale, AZ. Over the course of the season, viewers will see them adapting to their unfamiliar surroundings and trying to reform their old criminal habits, but all the while staying true to who they are. From running a legit family business to making new friends, the Cantarellas are putting their wayward past behind them and learning how to live life in the burbs.

Through stylized and thrilling re-enactments, viewers will be exposed to events that unfold during the critical 72 HOURS after someone is abducted. It is said that those who don't come home within the first three days, almost never do. In vivid, visceral recreations, the series will plunge into these terrifying events and watch detectives race against the clock to find a missing person, solve the mystery and expose the monster who made those three days a living nightmare.??
