Oscar Winning Actress Marlee Matlin to Guest Star on CBS's CODE BLACK Today

Academy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Marlee Matlin will guest star on CODE BLACK, Wednesday, Dec. 7 (10:00-11:00PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. In the episode, Matlin appears as Kathy Byrne, a deaf patient who arrives at Angels Memorial with her translator after their car rolls over into the L.A. River.

Matlin received worldwide acclaim for her film debut in "Children of a Lesser God," for which she received both an Academy Award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama. Her feature film credits include "Walker," "The Player," "It's My Party" and "What the Bleep Do We Know." Matlin's television movie credits include "Bridge to Silence," "Against Her Will: The Carrie Buck Story," "Dead Silence," "Where the Truth Lies" and "Sweet Nothing in my Ear."

She has starred in the television series "Switched at Birth," "Reasonable Doubts," "The L Word" and "The West Wing," and has made guest appearances on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "CSI: New York," both on the Network, as well as "ER," "Desperate Housewives," "Seinfeld," "Picket Fences," "The Practice," "Law and Order: SVU," "Glee," "Cosmos" and "Family Guy." Also, Matlin starred on "Dancing with the Stars" and made her Broadway debut in the revival of "Spring Awakening," which garnered three Tony Nominations. She published a New York Times bestselling autobiography I'll SCREAM Later and has authored three novels for children. Recently, she developed her first app for teaching American Sign Language, "Marlee Signs." In 2016 she returned for her third appearance at the Super Bowl, signing the National Anthem alongside Lady Gaga.
