Announced today, Academy Award-winner Hans Zimmer's 'Bleeding Fingers Music' has created the score for PLANET EARTH II, the brand new landmark series from the BBC's Natural History Unit. Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, Planet Earth II premieres on BBC America in Winter 2017.

Zimmer himself composed the main title theme and produced the remainder of the score with Bleeding Fingers' composers Jacob Shea and Jasha Klebe.

Hans Zimmer said: "Projects such as Planet Earth II come along once in a lifetime. It is the gold standard of wildlife documentaries and with it comes an enormous creative responsibility. It has been a joy and a privilege to be involved in such a globally important project."

Mike Gunton, Executive Producer, Planet Earth II, said: "The team and I have been absolutely enthralled by the wonderful music score that Hans, Jacob and Jasha have written for us - it feels so contemporary and cinematic and provides the final, essential ingredient to the series - one that superbly evokes not only the power and drama of the nature but the humor and charm of the natural world."
